Richard H. West, 61, of Sullivan, passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan on Thursday, February 12, 2015. He was born to William and Madeline (Moutray) West in Rolla, MO on January 18, 1954.
He is survived by his mother Madeline; one son, Jared West of Leasburg; one daughter Lindsay Gobin and husband Jason; three grandchildren, Paris and Annalise Gobin and Madelynn West; two brothers, Roger West and special friend Carolynn Simpson of Steelville, Gary West and wife Karin of Steelville; two sisters, Kay Caltry and husband Chuck of Sullivan and Darla West of Leasburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his father.
Richard was saved at a young age at Bible Baptist Church in Cuba, MO. He then attended Mt. Olive Church as long as he was able. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his early life he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a machinist in the tool and die industry.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Eaton Funeral Home Chapel in Sullivan. Burial will follow in the Lea Cemetery in Leasburg with full military honors. The family received friends Sunday from 1 p.m. till time of service.
