LeOlin Clarence Vogt, 80, of Gerald, MO passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
LeOlin was born in Gerald on September 8, 1936, to the late Louis and Ella (Vogt) Vogt. On May 23, 1959, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald he was united in marriage to Irma Landwehr. He served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald where he served on the cemetery board for many years. He had worked at LeClaire Brothers Transport and MoDot; then retiring from General Motors after 31 years; after retirement he worked for Lane Building, Rosebud Tractor and Dairy Farmers Transfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Leon Vogt on January 4, 2010; brothers, LeRoy and Fred Vogt; and sister, Elda Mae Wright.
His survivors include his wife, Irma of the home; son, Kelly Vogt of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Bianca Ramirez of Owensville, Alexus Strothkamp and husband Luke of Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Shane, Benjamin, Jett and Eliana Ramirez, Blair, Kabella and Kamille Strothkamp; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald with pastor Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery with full military honors.
