Judith A. Studdard

judith studdard obit colorJudith A. Studdard, age 70, of Bourbon passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in St. Louis, MO.

Judy was raised at Anthonies Mill, MO, where she attended elementary school. She attended high school in Bourbon and was valedictorian of her senior class. From 1963-1967, Judy attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in German Education with a minor in mathematics. While she worked at a variety of jobs, the majority of her career was spent in education.

In 1970, she met Ray Studdard. The two were married June 4, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Bourbon. Their only daughter, Kelli, was born in 1979.

Judy was a lifelong learner and educator, and was influential in the lives of hundreds of students. After her retirement, she continued to give back to the community through her work at Grace United Methodist Church of Sullivan. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, quilting, and reading. Her favorite way to spend her time was in the company of friends and family, especially her grandsons.

Her passing brings great sorrow to her many family members and friends, but they will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Studdard of Bourbon, one daughter; Kelli (Tom) McNeven of Rolla, MO, two grandchildren; Oliver and Graham McNeven of Rolla, two brothers; R.D. (Jean) Kimberlin of Florida, Tracy Kimberlin of Springfield, MO, one sister; Donna (Marcus) Schaefer of Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Michael Kimberlin.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Eaton Southside Chapel, 301 Sappington Bridge Road, Sullivan, MO with interment in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, MO.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Eaton Southside Chapel, Sullivan, MO.

Memorials to the Backpack Program at Grace United Methodist Church are appreciated.
