kathy-tucker-onitServices for Kathy Tucker, age 59, of Sullivan, were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Bourbon with interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Eaton Southside Chapel, 301 Sappington Bridge Road, Sullivan, MO.

Kathy Lorine Tucker nee Hulsey passed away at the age of 59 in Washington, MO on Monday, November 28, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in St. Louis, MO on December 18, 1956. Her parents, Roscoe and Ruth Hulsey provided a loving home and raised her into a very special lady known for her sweet spirit, kindness, love, putting the needs of others before her own needs are just a few of her many attributes shared from those who knew her.

Kathy was saved and baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church, where she had attended since she was 4-1/2. She met her future husband Glen in Sunday School going on to marry him 13 years later. They had 40 very precious years of wedded bliss before Glen passed onto his heavenly home in December 2014. She enjoyed spending time on the old Hulsey farm land, crafting, working in the family business and most especially the time she spent with her three beautiful, heaven sent grandchildren that were certainly not spoiled by her at all.  (Wink, Wink)

Kathy was a dedicated Christian who loved serving the Lord with her whole heart.  Just a few of her many talents included her ministry of playing the piano, decorating the church for every occasion, VBS crafts, landscaping, serving on numerous committees. “She was an example of how to live for Christ; a blessing to everyone she reached, always smiling.”

Kathy and Glen’s longest vision for the church came about when the pavilion was built. They wanted a special place for everyone to be able to gather outside.

Kathy is survived by her mother Ruth, daughter Laurie, son Jeremy and wife Ashley, granddaughter Jayden, grandsons Kaleb and Blake and many other relatives too many to name but greatly loved.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glen, daughter Sonya, father Roscoe Hulsey, brother Kenny Hulsey and other relatives.

In the words of our Aunt Jane, “Your mom left a legacy behind. I can tell by all the loving comments (on Facebook), lots and lots of them! What a lesson for those of us still living on earth, to be loving, kind, thoughtful, helpful, putting others first, Jesus Others You, what a wonderful way to spell JOY and Kathy knew how to spell it. May we all hope to leave that kind of legacy.”

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

Memorials to the First Baptist Church of Bourbon Pavilion Fund are appreciated.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
