Lewis ‘Tiny’ Valley

lewis-valley-obitServices for Lewis ‘Tiny’ Valley, age 72, of Bourbon, were held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at First Assembly of God in Bourbon with Pastor Derik Ruble officiating. Burial will follow in Bourbon Cemetery.

Visitation was from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, at First Assembly of God in Bourbon.

Lewis Theodore was born November 12, 1944, the son of Theodore and Esther (LaChance) Valley. After losing his mother at a young age, Tiny finished school and then began his working life.  He spent time learning many crafts and doing various jobs of which included welding, mining, and truck assembly to mention a few. Tiny also enjoyed working on small engines, mowing grass locally, and anything that involved tinkering with equipment.  He married the love of his life, Alice Merritt on July 31, 1965 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon.  Together they raised their family in Bourbon. Tiny had a love for music and could be seen playing his guitar, singing at the local nursing homes and at church. He also loved cars and was extremely proud of his ’65 Mustang. Tiny and Alice were very active with their church, First Assembly of God in Bourbon.

Tiny is survived by his wife Alice (Merritt) Valley of Bourbon; children: Rodrick Valley and wife Michele of Bourbon, Sheila Bloomner and husband Eddie of Bourbon; five grandchildren:  Blake Hinch, Trista and Tyler Valley, and Eddie Jr. and Caleb Bloomner; two great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Emily Bloomner; one brother, Melvin “Duke” Valley and wife Janie of Arizona, one sister; Audrey Lynn Robbs of Bonne Terre, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Lewis passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Assembly of God Church in Bourbon.
