Mary Ann Sammet obit colorMary Ann Sammet, of Beaufort, MO, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Mary Ann was born on December 13, 1934 to the late Lawrence and Mary (Schull) Small in Jamestown, MO. She was united in marriage to Charles Otte in 1954 and two sons, Duane (D.J.) and Daryl were born to their marriage. After Mr. Otte’s death, Mary Ann was married to Raymond Sammet on February 24, 1962 and three sons were born to their marriage, Rodney, Stacey and Bryan.  Mr. Sammet also preceded her in death. Mary Ann was a very social and outgoing person and loved her family very much. She enjoyed playing Bingo, flower gardening and babysitting. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Union, MO and attended Saint Jordan’s United Church of Christ in Beaufort.

She is survived by four sons, Rodney Sammet and wife, Karen of Cuba, MO, Stacey Sammet and wife, Wanda of Beaufort, MO, Bryan Sammet of Beaufort, D. J. Otte and wife, Jeanette of Pacific, MO; two brothers, Robert Small of Union, Mike Small and wife, Doris of Union; two sisters, Virginia Marsch of Washington, MO, Beverly Gentry of Union; 9 grandchildren, Dylan, Amber, Amy, Brooke, and Dalton Sammet, Cassie Aslinger, Sara Meyer, Matthew and Adela Otte; three great-grandchildren, Mia, Skye and Lyric, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Daryl Otte, grandson, Mario Otte, great-grandson, Ethan Otte, daughter-in-law, Tami Sammet and a sister, Evelyn Hawkins.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO with interment in St. Jordan’s Cemetery, Beaufort, MO. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
