Kevin Decker colorKevin Michael Decker, 40 of Ravenden Springs, AR, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

Kevin was born August 8, 1975 in Minot, ND.

He is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Rose Decker of Sullivan, parents, Pete and Rose Decker of Sullivan, three brothers, Chris Decker and fiancé, Trina of Sullivan,  Matthew Decker of Sullivan, and Alex Decker and wife, Riane of Columbia, MO, grandparents, Jim (PaBull) and Shirley Mannion of O’Fallon, MO, nieces, Madison Decker of Sullivan and Lochlan Nuckolls and soon to be nephew, Kevin Silas Decker of Columbia, MO, He also is a beloved cousin to many and Godfather to Connor Mannion of O’Fallon, MO.

Kevin was a graduate of Sullivan High School class of 1994. He was a natural athlete, gifted in every sport he played and was a fierce competitor. He played years of travel baseball and grew up winning many league and tournament championships. In the Sullivan Soccer league upper division, he scored a record 60 plus goals in his final year, helping his team to an undefeated season. In high school, he lettered in football and baseball. While he was a talented wide receiver for a growing Sullivan football program, he was most known for his place on the baseball diamond in center field. He was a 4-year starter for the varsity baseball team and an integral member of the 1994 team that took second place in the state playoffs.

After high school, Kevin followed in his grandfather, Jim Mannion’s footsteps and became a journeyman bricklayer in the St. Louis Bricklayers Union Local 1, where he helped build parts of St. Louis brick by brick. Pun intended.

Kevin was well known and very well-liked by people who had the privilege of meeting him. He had a natural charm and most would remember him by his piercing blue eyes, infectious smile and a wit that kept you interested and humored constantly.

Funeral services were conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 301 Sappington Bridge Road, Sullivan, MO. Cremation to follow. Visitation for Kevin Decker was held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the Eaton Southside Chapel.
