Mabel Ethel Jackson nee Smith of Bourbon, MO was born on Wednesday, February 25, 1925 in Bourbon, MO to Silas Smith and Lelah (Cartwright) Smith. She passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 in Sullivan, MO at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 28 days.
She married Charles R. Jackson on December 29, 1948 in Sullivan, MO and to this union one child was born. Mabel accepted the Lord early in life and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. She was a homemaker who loved baking and sewing. She lived a simple life but her family was most important. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Lelah Smith and brothers, Frank (Emma Jean) Smith and Clarence (Dorothy) Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Jackson of Bourbon, MO; daughter Charlotte (David) Dunn of Bourbon, MO; sister-in-law Nadine Davis of Wentzville, MO; grandchildren Megan (Scott) Davison of Forest Hills, NY, Emily Dierking of Lafayette, IN, and Sarah (Eric) Charles of Peoria, IL; great-grandchildren Adalynn Dierking of Lafayette, IN and Audra Charles and Julia Charles both of Peoria, IL; nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, MO at 10:00 AM with Paul K. Hutson officiating.
