Alfred Benjamin Crawford

Alfred B. Crawford Alfred Benjamin Crawford of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at the age of 87 years.
Mr. Crawford was born on July 28, 1928 at Brentwood, Missouri to the late Charles and Olga (Peterson) Crawford.  He received Christ as his Savior was baptized as a child.  He attended Riverview Gardens High School and honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army.  Mr. Crawford attained the rank of Private First Class and was a Munitions Handler with C Battery, 48th Field Artillery and was awarded the Korean Service Medal and three Bronze Service Stars for his service.  He had made his home in the Bourbon area since 1947 and was employed at Bremer Hardware and Lumber as a lumberman in the lumber yard. Mr. Crawford was a member of the American Legion Post of Bourbon and a member of the Booster Club.
He is survived by a sister; Alice Bremer of Bourbon, MO; and loving companion Ruth Simpson of Bourbon; many beloved nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothea and Dwight Halfaker.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Fri., Oct. 23, 2015 from Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon with interment in Bourbon Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation for Mr. Alfred Crawford was held at Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.  Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Bourbon, Missouri.
