Lorena Wissmann was born March 17, 1920 in Canyon, ID; the daughter of the late Paul W. Millsap and his wife Mollie Lorena nee` Hammond. She passed away Sat., Apr. 18, 2015 at the age of 95 in Washington, MO. Lorena received her education at Lickcreek Grade School and Kirkwood High School. Lorena was united in marriage to Lester “Jiggs” Wissmann April 26, 1939 in Des Peres, MO; the couple made their home in Leasburg. She moved to Union in 2006. Lorena was a buyer for Rexall Pharmacy in Sullivan, Bourbon, and Cuba, MO. She was also a homemaker, and farm wife. Lorena was a 60-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #456 in Leasburg, MO. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, and a member of the Ladies Aid at church. Lorena was also a member of the Crawford County Farm Extension Service. She enjoyed baking wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jiggs Wissmann; one sister, Lavinia Palmer and one brother, Donald Millsap.
She is survived by one son, Gene Wissmann and his wife, Donna, of Union, MO; one daughter, Judy Arnet and her husband, Bill of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren, Kevin Wissmann and his wife, Ruth, Vicki Ross, Christina Corbett and her husband, Shawn, Matt Arnet and his wife, Christine, and Ben Arnet and his wife, Nicole; five great-grandchildren, Alex Wissmann, Kayla Herman and her husband, Dave, Nathan Hoeft, Brandon Corbett, Connor Arnet; three great-great-grandchildren, Tyson, Rylee, and Parker Ann Herman; one sister, Hattie Sue Atherton and her husband, Warren, of Manteca, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service was held Tuesday April 21, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, MO, with Pastor John Roach officiating. Burial followed in the Lea Cemetery in Leasburg, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, MO.
The Wissmann family was served by the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO.
