Jenny Gargus

Jenny M. Gargus, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 19 days.
Jenny was born on July 24, 1938 to the late Elva Bergner King near Potosi, MO. She was united in marriage to Chester Gargus on March 19, 1955 in Steelville, MO and six children were born to their union. Chester preceded her in death on September 11, 2010. Jenny was known for her cooking, especially her fudge and biscuits and always cooked her family’s birthday dinner. Jenny’s family was everything to her. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday with her large family, and she loved to prepare everyone’s favorite home-made dishes. She also enjoyed reading and shopping at Walmart. Jenny was a good Christian woman and attended C Highway Full Gospel Church in Bourbon, MO. A wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by five sons, Daniel Gargus and wife, Julie of Sullivan, Kenneth Gargus of Rolla, Ronald Gargus and wife, Leighanne of Bourbon, Scott Gargus and wife, Lori of Owensville, David Gargus and wife, Charlotte of Bourbon; one daughter, Janet Byers and husband, Gary of Sullivan; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard King of Grand Prairie, TX, Jimmy King of Farmington, MO, John King of Oerman, MO; one sister, Dorothy Bates of Farmington, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her mother and husband, Chester, Jenny was preceded in death by a son, a daughter in law, Joy Gargus and two brothers, Charles (Buck) and Leo King.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at the chapel of The Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Tom Campbell officiating. Interment followed in the Reedville Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. Visitation for Jenny Gargus was 9-11 a.m. Monday, at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated. All arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home.
