Hazel Teeter
Hazel A. Teeter, of Sullivan, MO, wife of the late Pat Teeter, and daughter of the late August Henry and Margaret (Brooks) Richards passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the age of 93 years.
Hazel was born in Bixby, MO on June 11, 1921 and she was raised in several rural areas around Missouri. On December 15, 1941, she was united in marriage to Patrick Teeter in Union, MO and to this marriage three children were born. Hazel was employed for a time at Paramount Headwear, ran a self-service laundry and was a seamstress. Her true vocation in life was that of a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and following the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a 75 year member of Sullivan Rebekah Lodge 319 serving in all offices including Noble Grand three times. Hazel was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Sullivan.
She is survived by one son; Ted Teeter and wife Mary of Sullivan; two daughters, Wilma Scott and husband Robert and Vivian Whalen and husband Jerry all of Sullivan; two brothers-in-law, Bill Teeter of the state of Pennsylvania and Roy Teeter and wife JoAnn of the state of Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Elsie Halmick of Washington, MO; daughter-in-law, Anna Teeter of Sullivan; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband Pat, and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by nine siblings and was the last of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Sullivan.
Visitation was held from 4:30-8 p.m., Friday evening at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
