Shirley G. Savant, age 79, of Sullivan, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by her family.
Shirley Gertrude was born on July 11, 1937 to Boardman O. and Minerva M. (Crow) Bandy in Sullivan, MO. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan and on April 11, 1952, was united in marriage to Daniel Savant. Three children were born to their union; Vickie, Rick and Tracy. The Savant family raised their family and attended Temple Baptist Church where she was a devoted Christian. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma. She possessed a generous and caring spirit that touched many lives. She enjoyed quilting and traveling especially to the ocean and beach. Dan and Shirley would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this April.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Savant of Sullivan; three children, Vickie (Daniel) Hahn of Sullivan, Ricky (Connie) Savant of Nevada, MO, Tracy (Susan) Savant of Bourbon; five grandchildren, Shannon (John) Lechten of Sullivan, Danny (Lee) Hahn of St. Louis, Chrissie Savant of Sheldon, MO, Melissa (Ryan) Ayers of St. Louis and Paige (Marc) Redditt of St. Louis; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward (Dixie) Bandy of Nevada, MO; two sisters, Fern Witt of Sullivan and Sue (Howard) Finke of Raymore, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Boardman and Minerva (Crow) Bandy; one grandson, Derek Savant; one brother, William Bandy; one sister, Bonnie Culver.
A Memorial Service was conducted at 6 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
The Savant family received friends from 4-6 p.m., on Friday at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO.
Memorials to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society are appreciated.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
