Raymond Hopwood, age 60, of Brazoria, TX, formerly of Bourbon, MO, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his home in Brazoria.
Raymond Hopwood was born November 12, 1956 in Bourbon, MO, to Herbert and Virginia Hopwood. He grew up and attended school in Bourbon before moving to Brazoria, TX.
Raymond was a hunter, fisherman, gardner and lover of the outdoors. He and his wife Lauren were best friends and enjoyed spending time working together on their 4-acre tract of land. He was an employee of Home Depot and a friend to many. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his wife Lauren; sons, Wayne Flippen, Daniel Hopwood and Andrew Hopwood of Texas; sister Linda (Frank) Wright of Owensville, MO; and a brother Bill (Cynthia) Hopwood of Brazoria, TX; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three nieces; and four nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Virginia Hopwood; brothers Larry and Michael Hopwood; and a niece, Elizabeth Hopwood. A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wilma Harris officiating. Interment at Brazoria Cemetery.
