mainphoto_Heise colorFuneral Mass for Luella I. Heise, 88, of Bourbon, were conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Sullivan, MO with Father Paul Telken celebrating. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation was from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Thursday at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.

LuElla passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital-St. Louis.

LuElla Irene Mohr was born January 23, 1929 in Wynne, AR the daughter of Alvin and Agnes (Gahr) Mohr. As a young girl in the midst of the Depression, she moved with her family to St. Louis in their pursuit of a new life. LuElla was active in helping her family’s many business endeavors. On November 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edwin Heise and to this union seven children were born. They lived in St. Louis for a time before moving the family to Stanton in 1971 and eventually to Bourbon in 1985. Although LuElla worked various jobs throughout her life, she spent many years as a Postal carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. LuElla was an active member of the St. Anthony’s Church in Sullivan, Special Olympics, and the Sullivan Senior Center. Among her greatest joys, she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandkids.

LuElla is survived by her two sons: Alden Heise and Lawrence Heise (and wife, Veronica) of Bourbon; five daughters: Patricia House (and husband Jay) of Union, MO, Alice Johnson (and husband Jay) of Sullivan, Catherine Heise of Bourbon, Anita Chapman (and husband Joe) of Bourbon, and Tina Dixon (and companion Paul Bradford) of Bourbon; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon.
