Glen C. Wilburn

wilburn.colorServices for Glen Wilburn, 78, formerly of Sullivan, were at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.  Burial took place at Anaconda Cemetery, St. Clair, MO.

Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  on Wednesday at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Glen Chester was born on November 3, 1938 to Truman and Lydia (Reese) Wilburn at Holcomb, MO, one of 16 children. Glen was united in marriage to Georgia Faye Reddle on November 26, 1960 and two children; Sondra Faye and Willard Glen were born their marriage. In the 1970’s, Glen served as a police officer. In April on 1972, Glen was elected by the citizens of Pacific as their Municipal Judge. He was also employed in the steel industry and as a welder and put together the beams that were used in the construction of the I-44 Bridge at Fenton. Glen also worked as a janitor and bus driver for Rockwood School District. Later in life, he was a security guard at Friendship Village of South County and janitor at Big Bend Woods Healthcare. In 1971, Glen, Faye, Sondra and Rocky joined the Moselle Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized shortly thereafter. Glen loved to hunt, fish, boating and working on his Chevy Trucks. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, smoking and soaking up the sun while watching his grandchildren play. Most of all, Glen loved Faye.

Glen passed away late Thursday, January 5, 2017 at The Manor care center in Poplar Bluff, MO.

He is survived by his children, Sondra (Ricky) Barker of Cedar Hill, MO, Willard “Rocky” Wilburn of Farmington, MO; 10 grandchildren, Courtney, John, Lacie, Christal, Jennifer, Damien, Malorie, Stone, Maddie and Megan; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordyn Kylie, Daniel, Emily, Jacob, Grace, Erik, Kevin Jr. and Faith; eight brothers, Harry, Terry, Jerry, Mickey, Ronnie, Kenny, Rex and Dickie; three sisters, Faye, Ginger and Lavern;  nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Lydia (Reese) Wilburn; his wife, Faye (Reddle) Wilburn; and four siblings, Penny, Darell, Russell and Johnny.

Arrangements are under the care of Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan.
