Roy David Gilkey, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 74 years.
Roy was born in Danville, AR to Emma (Mehle) Gilkey and the late R.V. Gilkey. He was raised in St. Louis and later in life moved to Sullivan in 1985. Roy was enrolled in the Rainbow Program for Disabled Children in Rolla, MO and attended EMPAC, formerly the Sheltered Industries of Meramec Valley. Due to progressing health issues, Roy became a resident of LifeCare of Sullivan.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Gilkey, a brother, Robert Gilkey, a niece Gina Griffin and husband Rodney all of Sullivan and a nephew, Ron Williams of Rolla, MO, other relatives and friends.
Along with his father, Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gilkey.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in Schmidt Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Gilkey was held from 10 a.m., until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
