Betty Ryan, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the age of 90 years.
Betty was born on May 8, 1926 to the late Gordon James and Agnes (Juvani) Conradson in Michigamme, MI. After high school, Betty was employed by the Geological Survey in Michigamme and in 1943, moved to Washington D.C. to continue working for the Geological Survey. On September 30, 1950 Betty was united in marriage to Michael Joseph Ryan in Ishpeming, MI and four children were born to their union. Mike and Betty made their home in Grants, NM for four years and moved to Sullivan in 1964 where they have been an active part of the community and Saint Anthony Catholic Church. Betty was also employed as a bookkeeper for many years by Holiday Inn and Fashion Shoe Company. She also help at Saint Anthony School as a kindergarten aide and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary which included the preparation of many funeral dinners. In her free time, Betty enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Bingo. She was a great cook and was known for her potato salad. She was a wonderful wife, mom and grandma who loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Ryan, Jr., four children, Patricia Harmon and husband Paul Jr., Mike Ryan III and Doris Woods, Daniel Ryan and Cindy Wishmeyer, and Thomas Ryan all of Sullivan, MO, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchild, one brother; Raymond Conradson and wife Betty of Milwaukee, WI; one sister in law, Sherry Conradson of Ishpeming, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Conradson and a grandson, Dustin Ryan.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Sullivan, MO with Father Paul Telken officiating. Memorials to St. Anthony Catholic are appreciated.
