Robert Dean Vossbrink, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 77 years.
Robert was born on February 6, 1939 at University City, MO to the late Russell and Dena (Caldwell) Vossbrink. In his youth, he was raised in the Strain-Japan area until the family purchased a farm in the Stanton area. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and later was employed in various jobs throughout the area prior to being employed by the US Postal Service as a letter carrier and clerk at the Union Post Office. On May 18, 1974, he was untied in marriage to Anna Mae Mitchell. Robert was fond of fishing and having a good time with his friends. He was raised in the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Stanton.
He is survived by his wife Anna of the family home; two sons, Doug Vossbrink and wife Vicki of Port Orchard, Washington, and Duane Vossbrink and wife Chris of Merrimac, NH, Dana Dougherty and husband Don of St. Clair, MO; a step-son, Bobby Gene Mitchell of the state of Iowa; a step-daughter, Clara Rice of St. Louis, MO; a half-sister, Brenda Thomas and husband Steve of Stanton, MO; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Charles Vossbrink.
Mr. Vossbrink’s desire was to be cremated and a private family service in scheduled for this summer. Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Lung Association.
