Richard “Dick” Earl Pennock, Senior of Bourbon, MO, passed away Saturday April 23, 2016 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.
Richard was born January 17, 1939 in National City, CA. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1958 and from O’Fallon Tech and Rankin Technical College in 1969. On January 28, 1960, he married Sara “Margie” Margurite Jordan in Sullivan. Richard was employed as a Machinist with Ramsey Corporation for 26 years and loved his work to the extent that he literally whistled while he worked. He retired as a Tool & Die Maker from Kaydon Corporation in 1992.
Richard spent his spare time pursuing his passion in his machine shop where he performed gun repairs and building most anything out of metal. After retirement, he spent most of his time tending to the farm he grew up on.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sara “Margie” Pennock of St. Charles, MO, his daughter Marlene Minaeff of St. Charles, MO, his brother Russell H. Pennock of Kewanee, IL, his sister-in-law Hazel Pennock of Creve Coeur, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annie Pennock, his son, Richard E. Pennock, Jr., his brothers William and Roland Pennock.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., May 5, at the New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A reception will be held at the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the ceremony.
