William L. Seal of Indian Hills Lake, Cuba, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
Mr. Seal was born on December 20, 1928 at St. Louis, MO to the late Vernon and Margaret (Tozer) Seal. He was raised in the St. Louis area as a child and later graduated high school. Mr. Seal then attended what was then known as the Rolla School of Mines and then traveled west to California to attend UCLA. On November 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lois Schlothauer at St. Louis, MO and to this union four children were born. Mr. Seal honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Corporal. He was awarded an Over-Seas Bar, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star. After his discharge, Mr. Seal worked in Civil Engineering for at time but later became employed at the American Can Company and retired from there after thirty years. He was an active member of the Sullivan Amateur Radio Club, enjoyed flying model airplanes, and also was a NASCAR racing fan. Mr. Seal attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church LC-MS, of Cuba, MO.
He is survived by four children; Robert Seal and wife Linda of Cuba, MO, Suzanne Lesage and husband Robert of Spring Valley, California, Martin J. Seal of Cuba, MO and Linda Wright and husband Monty of Cuba; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a brother, Robert C. Carey and wife Jo of Ballwin, MO; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Mr. Seal was preceded in death by his wife Lois.
Memorial funeral services were conducted 7 p.m., Friday evening from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO with Pastor Joe Pederson officiating. Visitation was held Friday from 4:30 until time of service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
