Roy Edward Smith, of Gerald, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the age of 49 years.
Roy was born on May 9, 1966 to the late Kenneth Orton and Lois Mae (King) Lioda in St. Louis, MO. He was raised and attended school in St. Louis earning a GED. Roy was employed in the maintenance department at Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan Precision Metal for 8 years in maintenance and lastly at Gateway Extrusion in Union, MO. Roy was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working with his hands, inventing and fixing things. On May 23, 2010, Roy was united in marriage to Patricia Ann McKee in Sullivan. He was a friend to many and never knew a stranger. He entertained in his home with Karaoke, was a gourmet cook and had a great sense of humor. Roy was an Ordained Minister in the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith of Gerald, two sons, Raven Smith of St. Louis, Richard Smith of Sullivan, two step-sons, Brian Burton and wife, Rhonda of Maryville, MO, Michael Burton and wife, Tammy of Columbia, MO, his mother, Lois Lioda of Sullivan, two brothers, George Smith and Billy Ray Orton, one sister, Pat Smith, five grandchildren, Ethan James Smith, Ashley Linhart, Trevor and Jacob Burton, Mariah Randi, one great-grandchild, Lillian Victoria Linhart, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Orton, step-father, Bill Lioda and a sister, Pearl McPhearson.
Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with cremation for follow.
Visitation for Roy Smith was from 6-7 p.m. Saturday at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
