Ronald “Mike” Keogh, of Leasburg, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2016 at the age of 79 years, six months and nine days.
Mike, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in St. Louis County, Missouri on June 23, 1936. He was a son to the late Harold Leroy and Loretta Jeanette (Ovary) Keogh. At an early age, Mike moved with his family to Leasburg, Missouri and on July 13, 1957, was united in marriage to Geneva Holley at Fernando, Mississippi. He was employed for 13 years at Onondaga Cave as a general maintenance man and cave guide. Mike later worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation as a Crew Chief and Supervisor on the road crews. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He was very knowledgeable with tree species, plants and flowers. Mike also found pleasure in studying butterflies. He was a member of Sullivan Lodge 69 A.F. & A.M. and associated himself in the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Geneva of the family home; one son Pastor Ronald Keogh and wife Priscilla of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Angela Skaggs and husband Joe of Leasburg, Missouri; two brothers, Lee Keogh of Sullivan and Sonny Keogh of Columbia, Missouri; one sister, Martha Hardecke of Columbia, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Frank Keogh and a sister Colleen Ray.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from the Eaton Funeral Home, Bourbon Chapel with his son, Pastor Ronald Keogh officiating. Interment was in Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. Visitation for Mr. Mike Keogh was held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home Bourbon Chapel.
