Marvin Shafferkoetter

Marvin ShafferkoetterMarvin Shafferkoetter of Sullivan, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the age of 77 years, eight months and 14 days.
Marvin was born on February 4, 1938 in the Prairie Dell area near Union, Missouri to the late Perry and Ada Shafferkoetter.  The family lived for a time in the St. James, Missouri area where Marvin attended Junior High School.  He was later a graduate of Rolla High School.  On October 12, 1957 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Koenig at Bland, Missouri and to this marriage two daughters were born.  They made their home in Sullivan where Marvin was self-employed in auto sales through Shafferkoetter Enterprises and operated as M&M Motors.  Marvin enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Sullivan Country Club.  He also found pleasure in boating and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks.
He is survived by his wife Jane Shafferkoetter of the family home; one daughter, Marsha Thompson and husband Tom of Sullivan; son-in-law, Kevin Williams of Sullivan; two brothers, Robert Shafferkoetter and wife Karen of Warrenton, MO and Richard Shafferkoetter of Sullivan; sister-in-law Pat Shafferkoetter of Sullivan; two sisters, Naomi Coulter of Washington, MO and Joyce Bayless and husband Al of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Christopher Williams, Max and Sam Thompson; one great-grandchild, Bella Williams ; other relatives and many friends.  Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter Marla Williams, brother, Jack Shafferkoetter, and five sisters, Alma Triplett, Marie Triplett, Betty Hughes, Wanda Graves and Linda Shafferkoetter.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015 from the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan. Interment was private.  Visitation for Marvin Shafferkoetter was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 21, 2015 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan.
