Lonnie D. Rawlins

LonnieRawlins colorLonnie Dale Rawlins of Sullivan, MO, departed this life in Cuba, MO, on September 24, 2015, having reached the age of fifty-six years, eight months and twenty-three days.  Lonnie was born in St. Louis, MO, on January 1, 1959, son of Edmond Rawlins and Katherine Alline Rawlins nee Pendegraft.  He was blessed to have five siblings.

Lonnie is survived by one brother, Mickey Rawlins of Park Hills, MO; by four sisters, Nancy Chase of Mojave, Arizona, Joyce Thurmond of St. Clair, MO, Barbara Ramey of Union, MO and Lenda Jones of Sullivan, MO; by his special friend and buddy, Robbie Thoms of Sullivan; by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Katherine Rawlins.

Lonnie was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior. He loved his family dearly and had made his home with his parents until they passed away and then moved to be near his sister.  He enjoyed the outdoors and walking was one of his hobbies.  He also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and watching television. Listening to country music was another of his pastimes. Lonnie was passionate about the Christmas season and always decorated his home extensively and would volunteer to decorate anyone else’s home that would let him decorate. Although Lonnie had no children of his own, he enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Watson officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
