David William Morgan, of Sullivan, MO, departed this life suddenly in Cuba, MO, on May 11, 2015, having reached the age of fifty-two years, one month, and twelve days. David was born in St. Louis, MO, on March 29, 1963, son of Bernard Joseph Morgan, known to all as Joe, and Kathleen May Morgan nee Brockelmeyer. As a young man, he was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. Later, he was united in marriage and blessed to have two children. Later, in life, he was united in marriage and blessed to have one daughter.
David is survived by two daughters, Sarah Morgan and fiancé, Wesley Reck, of Bellingham, MN and Samantha Morgan of Sullivan, MO and her boyfriend, Zachary Bandermam, of St. Clair, MO; by his parents, Joe and Kathleen Morgan of Sullivan; by one brother, Joe Morgan and wife, Lisa, of Belvidere, IL; by two sisters, Rose Butler and husband, Rick, of Belle, MO and Julie Moore and husband, Bill, of St. Clair; by two grandchildren, Eli McGuffin and Kobe Reck of Bellingham; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his infant son, Dustin Morgan; and by his daughter, Jessica Morgan.
David was a Christian of the Catholic faith and attended St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. He was currently employed as a maintenance supervisor for American Precision Die Casting in Cuba, MO, having been with the company for about six years. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1 of St. Louis, MO, having worked through the union in past years. David was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest when he was in the woods, hunting. He was a skilled bow hunter as well as a marksman and was proud of his many mounts. He was naturally talented with the ability to fix anything and did all his own auto mechanics as well. Other favorite pastimes included fishing, riding his four-wheeler and going on the river. Above all else, he was happiest when he was spending time with his family. His girls were his pride and joy and he was a special “g daddy” to his grandchildren. Many joyous memories were created on shopping outings with his daughters.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with rosary services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO, with Father Bob Knight officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO.
