Noel Goodman, age 80, of Sullivan, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home.
Frederick Noel was born on July 3, 1936 to James and Katherine (Declue) Goodman in Meramec, MO. He grew up and attended Spring Bluff School. After his schooling, Noel worked on the family farm until he left to serve his county in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957. Upon his return from the military, he worked at various jobs eventually going to work for Pacco which later became Borg -Warner. He was employed as a supervisor for many years until its closing. He then went to work for Aerofil Technology for several years before his retirement.
On June 27, 1972, Noel was married to Shirley Essmeyer and together they blended their families. Noel was a family man who enjoyed his many hunting trips to Colorado. He also enjoyed talking and chatting with people and wheeling and dealing at auctions. He was also an avid gun collector.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Sullivan; his children: Debbie Goodman, Terry (Kenny) Thomeczek, Sherry Schatz, Vickie Bizzle all of Sullivan, Mike Blankenship of Sullivan, and Rob Carey of Sullivan; seven grandchildren: Melissa Martin of Sullivan, Zeb Thomeczek of Bahama, NC, Nathan Thomeczek, Corey (Andy) Hamann, Craig (Amanda) Hamann, Angie Bizzle all of Sullivan, and Russ (Jessie) Carey of Bourbon; 16 great grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; a brother, Ray (Shirley) Goodman of Spring Bluff; a sister, Joan (Bud) Adams of Spring Bluff; and numerous nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
Noel was preceded in death by his parents James and Katherine (Declue) Goodman; son Russell Blankenship; two brothers: Alden and Gene Goodman; two grandsons Bradley and Shannon Bizzle.
A Memorial service was conducted at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
Visitation was held from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
