Terry Thacker obit colorTerry Allen Thacker, age 52, of St. James, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Terry Allen was born on January 26, 1965 in Hayti, MO, to Manuel E. “Bud” Thacker and Mary M. Banks Thacker. He grew up and attended school in various places before graduating from Sullivan High School class of 1984. He attended Rolla Technical Institute in 1987-1988 specializing in Auto-Cad design and received his Associate’s Degree from East Central College in 2004. He was employed as a truck driver for J. B. Hunt, worked construction and eventually went to work for Walmart in Rolla, Owensville and finally in Cuba, MO, with his dream job of Accounting Clerk, counting money. Terry loved his fur babies, music, traveling, watching fireworks, woodworking, collecting coins, yardwork and gardening. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute he spent with his family during holidays and especially Christmas.

He is survived by his spouse David Copeland of St. James; his father and stepmother Bud and Ruth Thacker of Sullivan; brothers Steve (Debbie) Thacker of St. Clair, Danny (Marcia) Thacker of Sullivan, Mark Thacker and companion Sandy Cayton of Point Pleasant, MO, Mike (Michelle) Busse of St. Clair, Keith Thacker of Washington, John (Athena) Thacker of St. Clair, Scott (Amanda) Thacker of Sullivan and Joseph (Macie) Thacker of Sullivan; sisters Teresa (Doug) Erxleben of Sullivan, Shelia (Mark) Stumpe of Rosebud, Amanda (Clay) Richards of Popular Bluff, Holly Thacker and fiancée Jordan Houseman, Jessica Thacker and companion Brian Woodsby all of Sullivan; best friend Roger (Gaylene) Mills of Ackley, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother Mary (Banks) Thacker; and his grandparents.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in Buffalo Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.

Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. Monday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Memorials to the Siteman Cancer Center of Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis or Tri County Humane Society in St. James are appreciated.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
