Walter Stahlman, of Sullivan, MO, departed this life in Pacific, MO, on February 20, 2017, having reached the age of eighty-three years, three months and six days. Walter was born in St. Clair, MO, on November 14, 1933, son of Phillip Stahlman and Blanche Ethel Stahlman nee Minks. On September 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Earlene Lucille Burnett and two daughters came to bless this union.
Walter is survived by his wife, Earlene Stahlman of Sullivan, MO; by his daughters, Krista Stahlman of Pacific, MO and Karen Powers and husband, Kenneth, of St. Clair; by his grandson, Austin Hellebusch of St. Clair; by one brother, James Stahlman and wife, Marsha, of St. Charles, MO; by one sister, Velma Banderman and husband, Richard, of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Blanche Stahlman, and by two brothers, Kenneth and Harold Stahlman.
Walter was a Christian and in past years had attended the Assembly of God Church in Sullivan, MO. He was a machinist by trade and member and retiree of Sheet Metal Workers, Local 777 of St. Louis, MO. For over forty years, he was employed at Precision Automotive Components Company in Washington, MO. Walter was an outdoorsman at heart and loved to go hunting and fishing, especially when his grandson went with him. Gardening was another of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed caring for his home and maintaining his yard. Walter was happiest when he was spending time with his family and each of them held a special place in his heart.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Watson officiating. Interment was in Crow Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
