Services for Virginia Claspill, age 93, of Sullivan, were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
Visitation was from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home with burial at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri.
Virginia Elizabeth was born on October 8, 1923 to Jess and Lillian (Manning) Hawkins in St. Clair, MO. She was raised and attended school in St. Clair, moving to Sullivan when she married her husband, Robert Claspill on February 3, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. Three children were born to their marriage; Jim, Bob and Carol. Virginia was employed first by International Shoe and later by Midwest Shoe Company. Virginia was a very caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to care for her family and would do anything for anyone. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Virginia is survived by her son; Jim Claspill and wife Judy of Salem, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister; Louise Hana of Phoenix, AZ, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jess and Lillian (Manning) Hawkins, her husband; Robert Claspill, one son; Robert Claspill, Jr., one daughter; Carol Carter, one brother; Robert (Bud) Hawkins, five sisters; Barbara Pennell, Elsie Carroll, Loretta Gay, Margaret Bailey and Pearl Mastin.
Virginia passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
