Margaret ‘JoAnn’ Crabtree

Margaret “JoAnn” Crabtree, nee Davis, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 in Sullivan, MO, at the age of 80 years and 28 days. She was born October 17, 1936 in Davisville, MO to Roy Allen Davis and Frances Estella Martin Davis. On June 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert ”Bob” L. Crabtree in Pocahontas, Arkansas and to this union three children were born.

JoAnn was employed several years as a medical clerk. When living in St. Louis, she always enjoyed square dancing. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bourbon, MO. For about fifteen years, she volunteered in the local thrift shop. JoAnn spent many loving hours making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Glen Davis and wife Virginia, Jack Davis and wife Ina, Louis Davis and wife Agnes, Gilbert Davis, Eugene Davis, Max Davis and infant Lydle Davis; three sisters, Hazel Gibbs and husband Ray, Hilma Adams and husband Treffie and Norene McGlasson and husband Bruce; and one grandson, Nicholas Roodman.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-three years, Bob Crabtree of Bourbon, MO; one son, Richard “Rick” Crabtree and wife Shelia of Winfield, MO; two daughters, Robin Roodman and husband Dr. Steve of Marion, IL and Angela Clintsman and husband Rob of Hazelwood, MO; three sister-in-law’s, Ina Davis of Steelville, MO, Mildred Davis of Florissant, MO and Elsie Davis;10 grandchildren, Amanda Klopfenstein and husband Michael, Jennifer Van Aman and husband Michael, Rene’ Burress and husband Darrell, Richard Crabtree and wife Elaina, James Reifschneider and wife Terra, Rachael Smith, Keith Gittinger and wife Kimberly, Alexander Roodman and wife Randi, Jordan Reifschneider and Nicole Clintsman; nineteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

The Family received friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Mary Avizenis officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” was sung by Rene’ Burress, Rachael Smith, Lucas Burress and Shelia Crabtree. Other special music of “How Great Thou Art” was sung by Paul Gibbs and “In the Garden” was sung by Shelia Crabtree. The Eulogy was shared by Rene’ Burress.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Hewkin-Turnbough Cemetery, Davisville, MO. Music of “Sweet Bye & Bye” was played on violin by Mitch Davis.

Honored to be casket bearers were Richard Crabtree II, James Reifschneider, Alex Roodman, Lucas Burress, Keith Gettinger, Michael Van Aman, Michael Klopfenstein, Darrell Burress and as honorary, Ethan Reifschenider.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
