Wanda Maxine ‘Max’ Lloyd

wanda-lloyd-obit-colorWanda Maxine “Max” Lloyd of Bourbon, MO, formerly of Cuba was born September 22, 1925 at Bloomfield, MO, to the union of Jess and Effie Lena (Nee: Byassee) Kitchen and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, MO at the age of 91 years.

Maxine was united in marriage to John B. Lloyd, Jr. in St. Louis, MO, on November 25, 1945 and they were the proud parents of four children John B. III, Rodney, Betty and Rebecca. Maxine was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God faith and she was a devout member of the Assembly of God Church of Cuba for the last thirty-five plus years. She spent her life taking care of her family and home.

Maxine spent hours doing needle point, quilting and she loved to sing. She enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband and going to the Cuba Senior Center. What Wanda loved most in life was her family and spending time with her friends.

Maxine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt and friend of many. She will be forever remembered and truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents Jess and Effie Kitchen, husband John B. Lloyd, Jr., brothers, sisters and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; John B. Lloyd, III and wife Cheryl of Sullivan, MO, Rodney and wife Linda Lloyd of Golden, CO, Betty and husband Charles Bouse of Bourbon, MO and Rebecca Swope of Branson, MO, fifteen grandchildren: John B. IV (the fourth), Hiedi, Kalyn, Rodney, Jackie, Shannon, Gabe, Chuck, Tambra, Christine, Stephen, Myra, Erica, Nicole and Blake, thirty great grandchildren; John B. V (the fifth), Mitchell, Madison, Christian, Zachary, Kendall, Taylor, Max, Jack, Anna, Riley, Zane, Darby, Ethan, Cheyenne, Sophia, Simon, Cooper, Lauren, Kora, Cole, Samuel, William, Silas, Chase, Leigha, Aidan, Andrew, Teva and Connor, one great-great granddaughter Lilly, one brother Ray Kitchen of St. Louis, MO, sister Ernie Mullen of Phoenix, AZ, one brother-in-law Ray and wife Willadean Lloyd of Advance, MO, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington Street, Cuba, MO.

Funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington Street with Pastor Kyle Phillips officiating. Special music will be “Where the Roses Never Fade.”

Interment and prayers will follow at the Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cuba Senior Center in Maxine’s memory.
