Charles Harry Brauks, 82, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville, MO.
Charles was born July 22, 1934 in Jefferson City, MO, a son of the late Harry and Lena (Iven) Brauks. Charles was united in marriage on June 19, 1954 to JoAnn Mohesky at Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville. Charles worked as a machinist at Laclede Christy and in his early years at Pea Ridge Mine outside of Sullivan, MO. Charles was a member of Owensville Christian Church, Loyal Order of Moose, Masonic Lodge, and the Owensville Gun Club. Charles enjoyed hunting, spending time at the farm, and especially visiting with family and friends. He owned property with a group of friends called the POETS. Charles served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his son; David Charles Brauks and grandson; Christopher Bohl, his brother; Robert Brauks and sister; Mary Lou Herman.
His survivors include his wife, JoAnn Brauks, his two daughters; Rhonda Bohl and husband Jeff of Rosebud and Vicki Brandt and husband Jeff of Owensville, four grandchildren; Kyle Brandt and wife Diana of Owensville, Amber Linhardt and husband Mike of Lake St. Louis, Katie Rogers and husband Cody of Owensville, and Leah Bohl of St. Louis, and seven great-grandchildren; Kaley Brandt, Celeste Brandt, Derek Brandt, Grayson Linhardt, Brynlee Linhardt, Avery Rogers and Penny Rogers.
Funeral services were Friday, August 26, 2016 at Owensville Christian Church with Rev. Nick Geisert officiating. He was buried with full military honors at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Owensville.
Memorials may be given to Owensville Christian Church or family’s choice.
