Mary Edna Koehn, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at her home on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the age of 94 years, one month and 29 days.
Mary Edna was born at Granite City, IL on January 26, 1922 to Elasco and Mabel (Halbert) Lockhart. The family later moved to the Leasburg area and soon after, Mary Edna attended and graduated from Sullivan High School.
On September 7, 1940, she was united in marriage to Kurt Koehn, Jr. in Cuba, MO, and to this union two children were born. She stood by her husband’s side always and in any circumstance. It can be said that she was a true old-fashioned homemaker. Family reunions were always a special time and she truly loved her grandchildren and really found pleasure in her great-grandchildren. Mary Edna had a quiet disposition and a pleasant demeanor, loved a good joke and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Sullivan where she was involved in W.O.M. and the BALL Club.
She is survived by a son Roger Koehn and wife Maria of Sullivan; one daughter, Roberta Charboneau of Gerald, MO; sister-in-law, Rovene Lockhart of Leasburg, MO; 7 grandchildren, Robbin Buttrey of Washington, MO, Shelly Skouby and husband Gary of Gerald, MO, Erick Charboneau of Casa Grande, AZ, Shawn Charboneau and wife Jessica of Owensville, MO, Justin Charboneau and wife Diana of Crestwood, MO, Anna Wilhelm of Rome, NY, and Rose Brown of Belleville, IL; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Mary Edna was preceded in death by her husband Kurt, a son-in-law, Calvin Charboneau; a great-grandson, Luke Calvin Charboneau and a brother Robert Lockhart.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 from Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, MO. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Friday evening at Temple Baptist Church and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the church.
