James Emery Carter of Sullivan, Missouri passed away at his home on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the age of 68 years.
Jim was born on February 7, 1947 at Sullivan, MO to the Verna I. (Cuneio) Carter and the late Henry Carter. He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan and attended Sullivan Schools. On January 9, 1971 he was united in marriage to Fran Weirich and two children were born to their union; Christie and Gabe. Jim was employed by the former Bull Moose Tube and Maverick Corporation as a Mill operator. He was very musically talented and could play anything with strings. He spent many hours at Westgate Music playing his guitar with the guys. Jim enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of time on the river. Jim was raised in the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife Fran; two children, Gabe Carter of Sullivan and Christy McGraw and husband, Zach, of Sullivan; his mother, Verna Carter of Sullivan; one brother, Glen Carter and wife, Debbie, of Sullivan; five grandchildren; Nicole and Johnny Birge, Isaac McGraw, Jayson and Zane Carter, four step-grandchildren; Ashli, Nathan, Teagen and Trace McGraw, a niece; Kimberly Hartley and husband, John; brother in law, Mike Weirich and family; two sisters in law, Debbie Bolin and family, Lynn Woolley and family; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m., on Monday, December 14, 2015 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Mr. Glen Carter officiating. Interment was in Martin-Weirich Cemetery, Leslie, Missouri.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Kidney Foundation. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at eatonfuneralhome.com.
