Tom Roeder of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at the age of 75 years.
Robert Thomas Roeder “Tom” to family and friends, was born on January 30, 1940 at St. Louis, Missouri to the late Francis R. Roeder, Sr. and Lois D. (Rogers) Roeder. Tom attended and graduated from St. Louis University High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Louis University. On August 29, 1971, Tom was united in marriage to Karen Hoeing at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan. Tom and Karen celebrated 44 years of marriage. Mr. Roeder was employed by his father in the family business, Roeder and Sons Market. After moving to Sullivan over 40 years ago, he worked for the former Zeno’s and lastly as a meat cutter for Walmart. For the last 20 years, Tom was disabled but enjoyed working cryptograms and reading. A kind and loving husband, son, brother and uncle, Tom will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Roeder of Sullivan, three brothers, Rudy Roeder and wife, Betty of St. Louis, Missouri, Larry Roeder and wife, Sandy of Florida, Danny Roeder and wife, Kathy of Barnhart, Missouri, one sister, Marybeth Drabb and husband, Mike of Jefferson City, Missouri, two brother in laws, Ronald Hoeing and wife, Susan of Rosebud, Missouri, Walter Hoeing of Sullivan, one sister in law, Melody Nelson and husband, Mark of Greenwood, Missouri, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m. Tues., Nov. 24, 2015 from the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Rev. Father Paul Telken officiating. Interment was in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, with full military honors. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
