Shirley Jean Keogh of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 80 years.
Shirley was born May 6, 1935 at Sullivan, Missouri to the late Orville and Opal (Record) Woodruff. She was raised and attended Sullivan schools, and remained in the area all of her life. On April 4, 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to Matthew Leroy Keogh, Sr. at Cuba, Missouri and five children were born to the union. Shirley was employed in retail and also in several restaurants including the Thunderbird Terminal and Bobber Travel Center. She was an avid Cardinal fan and a devoted wife and mother. Shirley professed her faith in Christ and attended New Testament Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; Matthew Leroy Keogh, Sr.; two sons, Dale Keogh, Matt Keogh, Jr. and wife, Amanda of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters, Betty Keogh of Leasburg, Missouri, and Sandra Meyer and husband, Joe of Vandalia, Missouri; two sisters, Rosemary Harris and Dorothy Morris; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Keogh was preceded in death by one son, Mike Keogh; one brother, Johnny Bristow; and one sister, Jerry Ellis.
Memorial funeral services were held at 6 p.m., on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the First Assembly of God in Sullivan. Visitation were held at the church from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
