Hilda M. Schmidt nee Danz, of Sullivan, MO passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 88 years.
Hilda was born on September 26, 1926 in Champion City, MO to the late Charles W. and Katie Keller Danz. She was united in marriage to Roscoe (Ben) Schmidt September 6, 1947. They lived on the family farm on Hardecke Road most all of their lives. Ben preceded her in death on September 10, 1992 as the result of a farming accident. Hilda was a member of Sullivan Order of Eastern Star Chapter 219 and was involved in Special Olympics, Spring Bluff Homemakers and as a Pink Lady at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. She was employed for over 20 years by the Sullivan Senior Center as the manager. Mrs. Schmidt was a long time member of Champion City United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Carl Danz and wife, Janet, of Leslie, MO, Erwin Danz and wife, Mary Lou, of Leslie, MO; brothers and sisters in law, Eddie Gene Schmidt and wife, Verna, Peggy Schmidt all of Sullivan, and Robert Stevens of Florida; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Hilda was preceded in death by one sister, Lavern Havener.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 from the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Pam Quigley officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. Visitation for Hilda Schmidt was from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
Memorials are desired to Champion City United Methodist Church.
