Rose Ella Grayson, 97, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Ferne Valley in Owensville. Ella was born February 8, 1918, in Rector, AR, to John L. and Rose Anna McCoin Walker.
Ella professed her faith in Christ and was baptized into the Southern Baptist Church early in life. She was married in Tower Grove Baptist Church, St. Louis, MO, on June 21, 1941, to Wallace Joe Grayson.
Ella is survived by one daughter, Carol Rehmert and husband Dail of Owensville; one son David Grayson and wife Kathy of Luebbering; three grandchildren, Randy (Donna) Rehmert of Owensville, Joanne (Paul) Waltman of Festus, and Christopher (Crystal) Grayson of Sullivan; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death, also her parents; three brothers Burl, Delbert and Chester Walker; two sisters, Monta Hatch and Dessie Matheney; and a great-great-granddaughter, Saphira Kairi Rehmert.
Joe and Ella lived in St. Louis, MO; Walcott, AR; House Springs and Sullivan, MO. Most recently, Ella was involved in quilting at Grace Methodist Church in Sullivan, volunteer work at the Sullivan Senior Center and Missouri Baptist Hospital Auxiliary.
Visitation was on Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 1-2 p.m., at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, Cedar Hill, MO. Service held Saturday, 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill, MO. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
